How Design Is Reshaping the Modern Courthouse

Rob Fisch

Future-ready courthouses require design rooted in dignity, adaptability, and justice.

What will the courthouse of the future look like?

It鈥檚 a question I鈥檓 asked often, especially as artificial intelligence begins reshaping the justice system. My honest answer is that no one could possibly know 鈥 and that鈥檚 why thoughtful design matters now more than ever.

This is why I don鈥檛 just solve today鈥檚 problems, but help civic clients envision what鈥檚 possible tomorrow. Future-ready courthouses must be more than modern; from hybrid courtrooms to trauma-informed public spaces, the buildings we design are rooted in both human dignity and an openness and adaptability to the future.

The justice system is changing fast, and court infrastructure must evolve with it. The real success of our work will be seen years from now, when someone walks into one of these spaces and says, “This still feels right; this still works.”

Because we鈥檙e not just building courthouses. We鈥檙e building possibilities.
